On August 10, 2022 God ended the suffering and called one of his children, Martha Fling Mahula (Pasadena, Texas) home. Martha was the daughter of Buck and Dessi Fling of Jacksonville, Texas.

She is survived by her husband James Mahula, sons Jason McRae and Brian McRae, stepdaughter Rhonda Gilbert and her husband Bobby Gilbert, her stepson Chris Mahula, grandchildren Mally McRae, Blake Gilbert and wife Chloe Gilbert, and sister Charlene Langford. Steadfastly by her side providing love and comfort during her extended battle with cancer were long-time friends Betty Tucker, Gayla Webb, Helen Gary, and so many others.

With a Masters of Education degree, Martha taught school for 40 years. She was a devoted and cherished member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, teaching Sunday school until her health took a precipitous decline. Martha was happiest surrounded by her family and friends, and was the loving foundation of her adoring family. Martha was a woman who lived every day to the fullest. She loved to travel, loved her Astros, but most of all loved her relationship with God and her church family. Her kindness touched the lives of so many, and she will dwell in our in our hearts and minds forever.

She often leaned on her favorite scripture for guidance and support, (Proverbs 3, verses 4-5.)

A celebration of life will be held Monday, August 15, at 10:00am. at Memorial Baptist Church 6901, Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX.
