Martha von Kriegenbergh of Pearland, Texas passed away peacefully at age 85 in her home with her three children present on October 3, 2021. She was born on May 15, 1936 in Semarang, Central Java province in Indonesia. Immigrating to Holland once Indonesian was no longer under Dutch ruling, Martha would live a part of her life in the Netherlands before immigrating to the United States with her husband Erwin and firstborn daughter Brigitte.

Martha recently and unexpectedly lost Erwin on July 25, 2021. Her heart missed him dearly! She was blessed with only a short time to grieve before the good Lord laid her to rest. May God bless both Martha and Erwin as they journey through their new life together. We love you Mom and Dad!

The best way to describe Martha is simple. Godly, caregiver, loving, kind, thoughtful and patient! She enjoyed caring for others with a generous heart and never complained. It wasn't a part of her character. Martha loved children and she adored her grandchildren. She worked as a nanny for years. Not only did she raise her own family but she also helped to raise two other families. These families showed her love and respect. They made her proud because she shared a part in helping to raise intelligent loving human beings. We thank these families with a grateful heart for trusting our mother to be a part of their lives and for loving her.

Our mother had many talents. She was a talented seamstress, designing her own patterns throughout time. She could make anything! She was also very good at recycling and reinventing items for other uses than what it was originally designed for. Mom discovered late in life that she was gifted at painting. She enjoyed painting with oils. Thomas Kinkade was an artist she admired and some of her paintings reflect his style.

Martha was actively involved in her church prior to the covid pandemic. She enjoyed donating her time wherever she was needed. Cooking for her church and for people in need was always enjoyable to talk about. Entertaining and cooking Dutch Indonesian food was a specialty of hers. Over the years, Martha entertained large groups of friends, mostly of the same culture, at least once or twice a year. Her way of showing love was through good food and good company. Friends could always expect to go home with leftovers.

Martha created a beautiful life for herself and her family. Love was always in the air because close friends and family were always near. We will forever love and miss our mother. She was, and will always remain in our memory, a beautiful person who loved all people unconditionally!! May she rest in peace!
