On May 11, 2026, God called home a gentle spirit and re-united him with the love of his life. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Mark Anthony Pekar of Pasadena, Texas, who passed away at his home of natural causes.

Mark was a devoted husband, a cherished brother and brother-in-law, and a loyal friend. For 27 wonderful years, he was the amazing partner and husband to his late wife, Jodi Lynn (Iverson) Pekar, whom he lost just nine months ago in August of 2025. Mark's heart belonged to Jodi, and his family takes immense comfort in knowing they are together again.

Mark loved the outdoors. He was happiest when he was hunting and fishing alongside Jodi, sharing quiet mornings and adventures in nature. He was a steady, supportive presence to his family, always ready to extend a helping hand with kindness and a gentle soul.

Though our tears are filled with sadness, they are also filled with peace, knowing that Mark is no longer mourning, but is instead wrapped in the eternal joy of Heaven alongside his beloved angel, whom he lovingly called Jo-Jo.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Edith; and his wife, Jodi. He is survived by his brother Jerome (Jerry) Pekar, and his wife Edna of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Brent Iverson, and his wife Sandra Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; his parents-in-law, Chuck and Janet Iverson of Mesquite, Nevada; and numerous other loving extended family members and close friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, in Sweet Home, Texas.
