Maricela Martinez Hart loved deeply.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. From a young age, she developed a deep appreciation for words and beauty. An avid reader, Maricela loved books and music with meaningful lyrics. She often shared favorite lines from songs and movies, finding ways to weave the words she loved into everyday moments. She loved Elvis, her cat, Luna, who was never far from her side, butterflies, and trying new recipes. She loved to dance, talk, and laugh - especially with her children and Kelly.
In quieter moments, Maricela found beauty in the world around her. She loved listening to the wind as it danced through her windchimes and watching rainbows form as crystals refracted the sun's rays. She had a special way of noticing and appreciating the little things that made life beautiful.
Maricela had several lifelong friends with whom she created unbreakable bonds and always had an inside joke or story. Even after long stretches of time apart, they always picked up where they left off. She was beautiful, generous, thoughtful, caring, and strong. She always gave of herself, spoiled her friends and family, and took care of everyone. Her strength and love were especially evident in the way she cared for her parents, sister, and godparents during the final days of their lives. She was selfless. She always had the time and energy to take care of others, often putting their needs before her own.
Maricela loved life with its hard moments and its fun ones. She loved having new experiences, and spending time at Casa Corazon with friends, but above all, she loved her family more than anything and encouraged everyone to be their best.
She crossed over on October 30, 2026 at 52. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria De la Luz “Lucy” Martinez (2008) and Salvador Martinez (1998); her sister, Esmeralda Martinez (2003); and her godparents, Becky and John “Paino” Vega.
She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Kelly Hart; her son, Joshua Hart, and his wife, Kristen; her daughter, Kallie Hart, her brother Jaime Martinez, her grandchildren Lily, Oliver, Otto, and Olan Hart, and many cousins, aunts, and friends.
May Maricela’s laugh be the first memory that comes up when you think of her.
Rest in peace and fly freely, Mari.
