Maria Irene DeLeon, aged 88, passed away on Saturday September 20th, 2025, at her home in Houston, Texas.

She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as a loving and generous soul.  From the moment you walked through her door, always willing to make a tortilla and some beans for those that had the time to sit, or didn't. (She may have "made you stay!") Her door was always open, her heart just the same from the moment you entered, you knew you were HOME.

She is survived by her children Araceli (Sally) Segura, Ruben DeLeon. Grandchildren Erik Segura, Eduardo Segura, and Ruben M. DeLeon. Great Grandchildren Sariah Nicole Segura, Louise Irene Segura, Lily Francine Segura.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maximilliano and Margarita Porras, sisters Lydia, Gloria, Guadalupe, brother Adolfo, husband Roberto DeLeon, step-son Manuel, and step-son Mario.

Visitation will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, September 26th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.  The funeral service will also be held at the Funeral Home, Saturday, September 27th. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, Texas, 77075
