Marguerite Patricia Musgrave passed into the arms of our loving Lord Jesus Christ on September 14, 2026 at 88 years old with family by her side. She loved and she was loved, a rock to her family.  She was strong and tough and endured to her last day.  She fought the good fight, she ran her race and she kept the faith.

Marguerite Patricia Musgrave is survived by her former husband, Franklin Story Musgrave, who loved and supported her, and was with her and family celebrating so many occasions until her passing.  She is also survived by children, Lorelei Lisa Musgrave, Bradley Scott Musgrave, Holly Kay Musgrave and Christopher Todd Musgrave.  She is preceded in passing by beloved child, Jeffrey Paul Musgrave, who passed in 1989. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Dana Musgrave and her husband Don Titzman, grandchildren Eva Lindsey Musgrave, Christopher Warren Musgrave, and Tristan David Polk, and his father David Lane Polk, her brother Matthew Van Kirk and his wife Adele Van Kirk, neice Marisa Cirasella and her husband Peter Cirasella and their daughter, her great neice, Katelyn Cirasella, and her nephew Matthew Van Kirk Jr and wife Marie Van Kirk and their son, her great nephew, Neil Van Kirk.  She is preceded in passing by her beloved parents Neil Van Kirk and Lila Vankirk.

Marguerite Patricia Musgrave was born on March 17, 1938 in Paterson, New Jersey, much to the delight of her father Neil, who loved the Irish and his favorite holiday was St Patrick's day;  thus, she went by Patricia, Pat or Patty all her life. She attended college and earned her degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, where she met her husband, Franklin Story Musgrave. They had five children, the first three born in New York City while Story attended medical school at Columbia University.  During the medical school years, Patricia was well known to medical school classmates, who came over once a week for her novelty cakes baked from scratch and beer to watch the Untouchables. During this time, Patricia also worked as a life guard being an avid swimmer. The next two children were born in Lexington, Kentucky where Story attended medical residency and the family lived in a farmhouse.  The family next moved to the Houston area, when Story was accepted as a NASA astronaut, and Patricia remained in the area for the rest of her life.

Patricia was a well skilled, talented aritist, painting portraits, landscapes, and animal and coastal scenes on marble. Her art work became well known in the NASA area, and she would attend art gallery shows to sell her work.  Patricia also loved great danes and bred and showed her great danes at dog shows.

The family were members of St. John's Episcopal Church in La Porte, under the late Reverand Leighton Younger, where the children were raised in the faith and met other families whom became very dear close family friends.

Patricia obtained her Registered Nurse license in 1981, and worked in various hospitals as a nurse; and after obtained her Real Estate license, working with well known Norman Edmonson & Associates in Seabrook. She also knew the Edmonson' family from St John's Episcopal Church. Patricia considered being a Realtor as a ministry, finding her Clients the perfect home. She took great care in her work for others.

Patricia was a member of Sagemont Church in Houston, Texas, where she was a prayer counselor for many years and loved praying and ministering to others. Patricia also was a 1998 Bible School graduate from Abundant Life School of Minsitry at Abundant Life Christian Church, under Pastor Walter Hallam.  Patricia also loved attending Benny Hinn ministry conferences and she was a member of Concerned Women for America and National Day of Prayer; she held and emceed national day of pray services at Nassau Bay City Hall for many years.  Patricia also served as a senatorial district delegate at the State of Texas Conventions for many years, and was elected as a Senatorial District committee woman.  Patricia was a second generation born American with her grandparents arriving on Ellis Island, and her father being from Holland. She was incredibly patriotic in her love for our County, and her faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ.  She loved and cared for her family. She will be missed, but we rejoice that she is alive and well in her Heavenly home with our Lord, family and many friends.

The family will welcome friends Friday, September 18, to share memories and celebrate her life from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. at Peevey Funeral Home.
