Margaret Ann (Magana) Peake, 85, passed away on January 27, 2022, at Methodist Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1936, in Missouri City, Texas to Jose and Jesusa Magana. Her family moved to Houston when she was a childwheresheresided forthe rest of her life.

After graduating from the LVN program, she worked at Ben Taub Hospital for several years. She married Arthur E. Peake on February 8, 1960, and they were married for 61 years before he preceded her in death last year.

Margaret went on to a have 30-year career with the United States Postal Service while raising her family. She was a highly specialized clerk and enjoyed the intricacies of her work. Margaret was a consummate Mother, grandmother and great grandma totally devoted to her family. Spending time together with her family was a priority in her life.

In recent years, shewasan activate member of Freeway Baptist Church. She expressed her strong faith in how she lived her life every day. Margaret loved attending her weekly Bible study class and cared greatly for her friends there. She was a devoted and loyal friend to many individuals from her church and community.

Margaret had many interests that included travel, ballroomdancing where she won an award for the waltz and rooting for The Houston Astros and Rockets. She enjoyed listening to music from the 60's, especially Engelbert Humperdink and Marty Robbins. A voracious reader, she was seldom without a book orher Kindlein the evenings. She loved literature and accumulated an extensive libraryconsisting ofa variety ofgenres,but especially mysteries. Her library has been donated to Harris County Freedom Library in her memory. Margaret very much enjoyed being a volunteer reading tutor at her grandchildren's Elementary Schools in Pearland School District. Her granddaughter, Grey, has inherited her love for the written word and is a bestselling author of whom she was very proud. Margaret was passionate about attendingandrooting for her grandson's baseball events over the years.

This past fall she had the distinctpleasureof attending the wedding of her first granddaughter, Ashton Marie Peake to Mr. Brian Wilt, as an honored guest. This memorable celebration brought her so much joy. "Grandma" will be deeply missed by her family, many friends, neighbors and all who loved her.

Margaret is survived by her children and their families. Arthur James Peake and wife Rebecca, granddaughter Ashton (Peake) Wilt and her husband Brian. Barbara Peake Mingarelli and husband Tom, grandchildren Matthew, Ross, and Grey. Victoria Spieler and husband John, granddaughter Ashley Spieler, great grandson, John "Jack" Stadtfeld, grandson David Spieler and wife Afsaneh and great granddaughter Dahlia Victoria Spieler. Margaret is also survived by her sisters, Valentina Johns Mendoza and Barbara Magana,brothers-in-lawOliver Peake and Dallas Peake, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00am., at Freeway Baptist Church, 8702 Kingspoint Rd, Houston, TX 77075. Pastor Mark Butcher will preside over the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Freeway Baptist Church.
