Manuel Reyes, Jr. was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2023. Manuel was born on February 12, 1946 in Edcouch, Texas. He is the second oldest son of Maria and Manuel Reyes.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents Manuel Reyes Sr and Maria L. Reyes, his brother Hector Reyes, his beloved son Manuel Reyes III, and his son in-law Antonio Valle.

He is survived by his children Melissa Valle, Isreal Reyes, and DeeDee Johns, his grandchildren Jesse Alegria, Jessica Alegria, Tracie Nava, Giovanni Valle, Stori Valle, Isreal Reyes Jr., Kristin Reyes, Anthony Flores, Carlos Ruiz, Angel Garza, Brenda Lopez, his great children Gianni "Zeke" Valle, Treston Reyes, Sophia Lopez and many more, his brothers Jose Reyes and Mario Reyes, his sisters, Eva Garza, Fela Hernandez, Elvira Espitia, and Alicia Rodriguez, and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel took great pride in being an American and serving his country while in the Army he was deployed to Vietnam, while in Vietnam he was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart.

After he left the Army in 1971, he worked as a farmer in California until 1982 he moved with his family to Houston, Texas and he became a truck driver and traveled all over the country until he retired at 65. He was blessed to have the opportunity to buy some land and he always had great plans and visions for his property.

Manuel was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and Uncle. He was a great friend to many and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm, with a service at 6:00pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston, Texas 77089
