Malcolm Douglas Yandell was a fierce person, who "raged against the dying of the light" to the very end. He passed away on September 9, 2021 at the age of 83. Malcolm was born to Susie Bell and James Moody on March 19, 1938 in Allen, Texas. The youngest of four children, he had a sharp mind and a love for learning. He worked two jobs to pay his way through North Texas State University where he earned his bachelor's degree. His first job upon graduation was as a science teacher at The Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth, where he was famous for his physics experiments and dynamic demonstrations. He went on to become Dean of Boys and a Master Mason. He taught at the Masonic Home for seven years and it was there that he met Sandra, his future wife. While in Fort Worth, Malcolm obtained his Master's degree from Texas Wesleyan University.

Deciding that there were better opportunities elsewhere, Malcolm moved the family to the Houston area. He taught in the Pasadena School District for three years and began a part time real estate career. He soon quit teaching and became the top producing realtor out of a company with twenty two offices. In 1975 he and his wife opened their own office, M.D. Yandell Real Estate.

Malcolm was a devoted father and took great pride in his children's accomplishments. An avid coin collector his entire life, Malcolm became a full time numismatist after retiring from real estate. He specialized in rare American bank notes.

Malcolm is survived by Sandra Yandell, his former wife of forty-two years, his daughter Laura Yandell, and son, Dr. Mark Yandell and his wife Karen, and three grandchildren, Thomas, Maeve, and Vera Yandell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, September 14th, at Peevey Funeral Home
