Lonnell McVey Mann, passed away on March 7, 2023 at the age of 89. Nell was born in Galveston, TX on November 15, 1933, and was raised in Houston, TX graduating from Jeff Davis High School in 1952. Nell married her sweetheart, Wayne Mann in June of 1952 and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and dearest friends.

Lonnell is preceded in death by her parents Lon and Eula McVey of Madisonville, TX, and sister Norma Shaunfield of Beaumont, TX.

Lonnell is survived by her husband, Wayne Mann; sons, Richard Mann, Jr. (Ruth) of Friendswood, TX, Mark Mann (Cindy) of Houston; grandchildren Richard Mann III (LeighAnn) of League City, TX, Matt Mann (Kiva) of Friendswood, Clint Mann (Veronica) of Friendswood, Alan Mann (Michelle) of Pearland, Christie Bethune (Charlie) of League City, and Ashely Mann of Miami, FL; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Carter, Owen, Benaiah, Khyber, Maggie, Morgan, Shane, Nichole, Sydney, and Jackson Mann, and Christian, Chase, Carlee and Casey Bethune; sister, Judy Robinson (Wayne) of Friendswood, and brother, Jon McVey (Becky) of Arizona, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her wonderful caretakers, Sandra Martinez and Rudi's Angels.

A long-time member of Sagemont Church, Nell was a devoted follower of Jesus. Nell was loved and respected by so many friends, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest treasure in this life was her family, to whom she was known as "Nanny", and also on occasion, as "the smartest woman in the world". She loved to hunt, fish, travel, and was a wonderful cook and avid reader. She was a tough woman, having survived cancer twice, never giving up but always persevering. She was very generous and always willing to help those in need.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston 77089, at 12:00pm Saturday, March 11, 2023, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
