Leah Sabrina Pounds, age 48, of Alvin, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2026.
She was born on April 18, 1978, in Albany, Georgia, to Hal and Lanell Pounds.
Leah was a devoted Christian whose love for Jesus shone brightly throughout her life. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she found great joy and purpose in serving the Lord. As a dedicated member of Sagemont Church, Leah faithfully served in numerous youth ministries, helping guide and encourage young people in their walks with Christ. Her passion for nurturing the faith of others reflected her deep commitment to kindness, encouragement, and sharing God’s love. Leah was committed to and treasured being a part of the Women’s Prayer Ministry group at Sagemont Church.
Leah graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and aspirations of becoming a teacher. Her natural gift for nurturing and encouraging others found meaningful expression through her involvement in youth ministry. Beyond her ministry work, she enjoyed a variety of interests, including music, equine showmanship, photography, and bowling.
Leah is survived by her loving parents, Hal and Lanell Pounds; her brother, Danny Pounds, and his wife, Sheri; and many nieces, nephews, and their families, including Amanda and Michael Melton (Macy and Easton), Tayler and Eithan Klawinsky (Tyler and Tate), Bailey Pisarz, Cody Shaw, (Karter and Kamri). She also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and a church community who will forever treasure her memory.
Leah’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and grace. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
