Lawrence E. Shows "Larry" of Alvin, TX (formerly of Texas City) passed away on June 25th, 2022 while surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Galveston, TX on October 11, 1946 to Grady and Ellen Shows. He was the youngest of 10 kids. He graduated from Ball High and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after, proudly serving 4 years active duty, and fought in the Vietnam war. He married the love of his life, Glenda Tessitore Shows, on Feb 20, 1971 and had his daughter and son, Gina and Larry. He retired from Sterling Chemicals after 28 years. He loved spending time with his family and never missed an opportunity to do so. Larry and his brother Raymond used to get season tickets and go watch High school football every Friday night in Texas City. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Kayla, grow up playing softball and then on to watch his great granddaughters, Alexis and Madison play softball as well. He loved watching Texas A&M football, Houston Texans football, and the Houston Astros. He loved going fishing down at the Texas City Dike with his brother. He really loved music and would often just sit and listen to the Oldies music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and 7 of his siblings.

He is survived by his wife Glenda Shows; his children Gina Hanzik (husband Steven) and Larry Shows (girlfriend Candace); his grandchildren Kayla Meza (husband Joe) and Dylan Shows, Janea Hanzik (husband Randy), Steve Hanzik (wife Milinda); great grandchildren Alexis, Madison, Randy, Gage, Mya, and Jordy; his brothers, Floyd Shows (wife Barbara) and Roger Shows (wife Alice) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 16th, at the VFW hall at 901 Main St La Marque, TX from 12:00pm until 3:00pm.
