Larry Lee Robbins, of Pearland, Texas passed onto eternal life on Saturday, June 17th, 2023, with his loving wife Jackie Oyan Robbins, by his side.

Larry was born on December 17th, 1936, to Norris and Ruby McGrew Robbins. He grew up in Grandview, Iowa graduating from Grandview Consolidated High School, Class of 1955. Larry's path of service started in the United States Air Force followed by serving on the Iowa State Highway Patrol. He then chose to follow his interest in nature and graduated with a Degree in Forestry from Iowa State University. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 17 years at locations throughout the northern United States including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Larry transitioned to the United States Army Corp of Engineers at Lake McBride, Iowa. He retired from service in 1998 in Peoria, Illinois.

Larry loved everything outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, hiking, and skiing well into his 80s. Larry could often be found working on projects including decks and home remodeling. Any group Larry was involved with benefitted from his knowledge, skills, and his generous spirit. One of his favorite hobbies was building birdhouses for family and friends and mentoring his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many activities.

Larry's faith was personal, private, and very deep. He served on mission trips to the Czech Republic, New Orleans, and several Habitat for Humanity projects.

In retirement, Larry and Jackie enjoyed travel, visiting Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, New Zealand, Panama Canal, Bahamas, and the Western Caribbean among other places.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Jackie Robbins. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren: Michael Robbins and wife Katy of Huntsville, Texas and children Victoria and Jackson; Erin Robbins Mullins and husband Stu of Solon, Iowa and children Riley Mullins Plagge and husband Jack and Ellie; Heather Robbins McGee and husband Jason of Stoughton, Wisconsin and children Aidan and Cael; Doug Dallmeyer McMeyer and wife Jessica of Peoria, IL and children Kate and Mitch; Anne Dallmeyer Ruhl and husband Chaz of Arlington Heights, Illinois and children Molly, Grayson, and Keegan; Christopher Dallmeyer of Houston, Texas and children Marley and Elliot. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Robbins Beik and husband Bill and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by parents Norris and Ruby.

Larry's family would like to thank the kind and loving caregivers at M.D. Anderson Hospital for the amazing care they gave him.

The family has planned a Celebration of Life Service at Clear Lake United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 am.
