Late Saturday evening, on the 6th of January, Larry Dean Bevill, of Pearland, Texas lost his ongoing battle with Congestive Heart Failure and passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 71. Larry Dean Bevill was born in Houston, Texas June 10, 1952 to parents Lawanda and Gordon Sr. Bevill.

After relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico with his family in 1960, Larry remained active in the Boy Scouts, ultimately advancing to the esteemed rank of Life Scout. He graduated from Sandia High School in 1970, and continued on to receive an Associate Degree from the University of New Mexico.

Continuing the family tradition of service to one's country, Larry soon enlisted with the United States Air Force. It was there he was instilled with the strong work ethic that he carried with him through his career as a service representative, which first began at IBM in 1973 and ended at Konica Minolta in 2009.

It was during that time that he met and married Bobbie Lynn Barnett. They settled first in South Houston, then moved to Pearland, Texas, and decided to start a family. Together they had two daughters, Ginger Lynn, and Sabrina Renee Bevill. Being a father came very naturally to Larry. He enjoyed teaching his girls everything from how to ride a bike to their multiplication tables. But above all, he filled their childhood years with fun adventures and new experiences.

Always an early riser, Larry was constantly on the go. Whether he had a project to complete or an event to attend, Larry definitely lived every day to the fullest. A true lover of the outdoors and water sports, Larry was happiest when he was camping at Lake Somerville with family and friends; or tubing down the Guadalupe River. He also enjoyed working in his yard, always meticulous down to the smallest detail. He was extremely fond of his three grandchildren, Adam, Avery and Jewel Hartney, who called him PawPaw; and could often be found dining out with them at Kelley's, or cheering them on at their football games and dance competitions.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Sr. and Lawanda Bevill, and his two brothers, Gordon Jr. and Danny Bevill. There are surely some long awaited dominoes and canasta games going on in Heaven right now. He is survived by his daughters, Ginger and Sabrina Bevill, his grandchildren, Adam, Avery and Jewel Hartney, lots of nieces and nephews, and 4 granddogs.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home at 10:00am Friday,  January 19, 2024.
