Kelly passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday May 11th surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kelly B. Pitts, Sr. and Thelma Jewel Pitts, as well as his brothers John and William Pitts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda, son Kelly and wife Kim, along with grandsons George and Charles.  Kelly is further survived by his sisters-in-law; Sandi May, Robin Stringer, and Stephanie Pitts. His brother-in-law Lewis Tyra, Jr. and wife Pat and nieces Allison Alvarez, Jamie Courville and husband Donnie, Andrea Tyra, Melanie May, Ashlee Schaper, Payton Pitts, and nephews Trey Tyra and wife Allison, David May, Jr. and Will Pitts.

Kelly was born on August 9th, 1952, in Houston, TX.  He graduated from Ross Sterling High School in 1970 where he met his wife, Linda.  Their high school romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they married on October 25th, 1975.  Kelly continued his education at Sam Houston State, where he graduated in 1975 with a BA in Business.  During his time at SHSU, he was a charter member of the SSI fraternity and served a term as president.

In 1979, Kelly, alongside his devoted wife Linda, founded Wholesale Caps Etc. Throughout the years, Kelly remained actively engaged in his community.  He served a term as president of the Kiwanis Club, where he contributed significantly to the club's initiatives. Additionally, as a dedicated member of the Golfcrest Country Club, he served on the board of directors during the 1990s, playing a pivotal role in the club's governance and development.  Kelly was also passionately involved in the Executive Hunting Club, where he was currently serving as president.

Kelly enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones.  He held a special fondness for the moments spent with his grandsons, whether they were collaborating on projects in his garage or tackling tasks around the house together. He also enjoyed engaging in lively discussions with fellow EHC members about club activities.  His warm presence, love for life, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Peevey Funeral Home, Thursday, May 16, from 6pm until 8pm. 12440 Beamer Rd Houston, TX 77089. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 17, 10AM also at Peevey Funeral Home.  A reception will follow at Golfcrest Country Club.
