It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kay Frances Morris (87) announces her passing at home on August 27, 2025.  Kay was a giver, with a heart full of love, and will be missed deeply, but we take comfort in knowing she is resting in peace, and joining her husband, parents, and other family members and friends in heaven.

Kay and her husband Brian, along with children Debbie, Jerry, and Jimmy moved to Sagemont in 1969, and lived there for 25 years until Tropical Storm Allison flooded their home. They moved to a nearby neighborhood where she lived the past 25 years.  It was there a new generation filled her heart, as she helped care for her grandchildren, Jeremy, Chayse, and Chanse. They filled her heart with so much joy and pride, and she showered them with love.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who could always be relied upon to lend a helping hand, any time, day or night. She gave everyone a sense of comfort and security.

Kay loved baking, and loved sharing her homemade treats with others. When it came to birthdays, she made them special. She loved a practical joke, and we all experienced wind-up butterflies or something else flying out of a box we were unwrapping.  She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays. The family tradition of gathering at her house Christmas morning will be missed. It won't be the same without her big smile, house full of decorations, and the smell of fresh baked cinnamon rolls and homemade cookies.

Kay also enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, painting ceramics, and creating cookbooks for family and friends. She was a great bowler, and she and Brian spent many years bowling at Mimosa and Armadillo Lanes. She enjoyed playing volleyball and yard games, square dancing, reading, playing cards, gathering with family, playing the casino slot machines, and reading. Kay was a huge sports fanatic, and watched practically any sport on TV.  She was a huge fan of the Houston Astros, Oilers, Rockets, Texans, and Cougars.

Kay was always there to support and cheer on her children and grandchildren at all their school concerts, sporting events, extra-curricular activities, awards ceremonies, and at their community little league games. She never hesitated volunteering support to teachers or for school fundraisers and festivities.  We will all miss her loving heart, friendship, big smile, advice and support. We trust God giving us comfort as we mourn her loss, knowing she is no longer tired or in pain. God saw she was suffering, took her in his arms and whispered, "Come to Me." May she rest in peace.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mable, her husband of 54 years, Brian, and brothers and sisters Keith, Zane, Lyle, Dwight, Lennis, Deloit, Arlene, Karen, and Roger. Surviving Kay are her daughter Debbie, son Jimmy, son Jerry and his wife Sabina, grandchildren Jeremy, Chanse, and Chayse, brother Bruce Craig, sister Coral (Koko) "Craig" Hughbanks, and her many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, September 20, at 2:00pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
