Katherine Favor, lovingly known for her warm heart and welcoming home, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, surrounded by family.

She was born Katherine Marie Prinz on February 19, 1944 in Kingsville, Texas, and also lived in Robstown, Bishop, Corpus Christi, and Austin before moving to the Houston area in the early 1970s, settling first in Sugar Land and later making Pearland her home in 1980.

Katherine found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved gardening and lawn work, yellow roses, butterflies, decorating her home, and watching the birds outside her breakfast window. Holidays were especially meaningful to her, as she loved cooking and filling her home with family and friends. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats, at one point caring for 50 outside cats at her property on 518. She was also a devoted Houston Astros fan and loved cheering on her team.

Katherine deeply loved her children and grandchildren, and she quit smoking when her first grandchild, Courtney, was born. She also loved playing games with family and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Prinz; her mother, Evelyn Prinz; her older sister, Lucille McMurray; her sister, Phyllis "Kiki" Toler; and her brother, Robert Prinz.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Heider and his wife, Belinda; Kenton Heider; and Kyle Heider and his wife, Nicki, along with her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Courtney, Alyssa, Garrett, Kayla and Karsen, 5 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at Peevey Funeral & Cremation, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
