Kamal Meshkatian, of Houston TX passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, after a fast but courageous battle with cancer. Though his diagnosis came only a month before his passing, he faced it with the same strength, humor, and realism that defined his life.

Kamal was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. Born in Neyshabur, Iran, on March 16, 1949. He grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and the close bond of his siblings– Behjat, Parviz, Parvin, and Mary– with whom he shared countless cherished memories throughout his life.

After moving to the United States, Kamal pursued his education at Texas Southern University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He began his professional journey managing Pizza Inn before starting his long and rewarding career as a civil engineer for the City of Houston. He engaged in other careers with dedication and pride until his retirement in 2020.

Kamal married the love of his life, Nina Meshkatian. Together they built a beautiful life, sharing a love for exploration and adventure as they traveled the world and created beloved memories. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Raha Meshkatian, and a loyal companion to his precious poodle, Rocky, who never left his side.

As a man of many passions, Kamal found joy in reading, traveling, exercise, Persian music, and long walks with Rocky. He was a force of nature– unapologetically himself, known for his sharp wit, sarcastic humor, and deeply caring heart. His ability to make others laugh– even in the hardest moments, was one of his greatest gifts.

Just months before his illness, Kamal and Nina fulfilled yet another dream by traveling though Italy and France, creating more memories that now serve as a lasting reminder of his love for his life, family, and adventure. Kamal's strength, intelligence, and humor will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and laughter that will never fade.

A service to honor Kamal's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas.
