On January 10, 2023 Jose Gaytan, III went to be with the Lord at age 36. He was born August 15, 1986 in Houston, Texas. Jose is survived by his mother, Brisaida Gaytan, his father Jose Gaytan, and his brother Chris, sister-in-law Crystal and niece Cassie Gaytan.

Jose grew up in Pasadena, Texas. He played violin and tennis very well all through high school. He got a scholarship for both and was a great student. Jose was a very talented individual. He was pretty much great at everything he did. His mother says everything he touched, turned to gold.

Anyone who knew Jose knows that he demanded the best from himself and others around him. He was a great mentor and amazing friend to so many. He never prejudged anyone and made friends everywhere. He brought the party everywhere he went. Even in his final days at the hospital everyone came to check on him.

He loved so many people, and was loved by so many as well. At the young age of 36, his life was full. He loved, laughed, and made you feel like you could accomplish anything. You will never be forgotten, Jose.

The quote that sums up his life is "in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in the years."

A celebration of Life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Thursday, January 19 at 6:00pm., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
