John Michael Slack, 43, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. He was born on June 10, 1981, in Houston to Kenneth Melvin Slack and Sherron Elaine Slack.

From a young age, John was drawn to health and fitness, developing a passion for weightlifting that stayed with him throughout his life. Though he rarely sought attention, those who took the time to know him discovered a man of great depth, insight, and quiet humor.

John took pride in his work as a master electrician, where his meticulous nature and problem-solving skills served him well. He approached every challenge with precision and determination, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—grilling the perfect steak, spending time with family, and caring for those he loved. He was happiest when grilling and sharing a meal he had prepared with those closest to him.

A lifelong Texan and Houstonian, John was deeply loyal to his family and friends. His kindness was often expressed in small, meaningful gestures rather than grand declarations—offering a helping hand without being asked, remembering the little things that mattered to those he cared about, and standing by his loved ones with unwavering support.

He never married or had children of his own. His love for his family was steadfast, and he took great pride in being a devoted son, brother, and uncle. John is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Melvin Slack and Sherron Elaine Slack. He is survived by his sister, Karen (Slack) Meppen, and her husband, Ezra Meppen, of Las Vegas, NV, as well as his niece and nephew.

Though John's physical presence is no longer with us, his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His strength, intelligence, and quiet kindness will not be forgotten.
