A reception in the hall of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church following the conclusion of mass.
John Edward Carmona, 59, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2026. He was born on March 22, 1967, to Mary and Luke Carmona. He was a devoted son, father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend whose life was centered around his family, faith, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Luke Carmona, and his sisters, Sharon Marroquin and Patricia Carmona.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia; his daughter, Stephanie Lynn Perez (Jose); his granddaughters, Aubree and Adalynn Perez; his brother, James Carmona; and his beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
John worked hard throughout his life and took pride in providing for and caring for the people he loved. His family was very important to him, and he always did his absolute best to be there for them whenever they needed a helping hand.
John found happiness in the simple things in life. He loved bowling, working outside in the yard, listening to music, and dancing. He cherished the time he spent with his daughter coaching volleyball at the YMCA, going out to eat with his brother, and visiting garage sales with his sisters.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in his church community. He never shied away from helping wherever he was needed. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and thanked God every day for the blessings in his life.
Those who loved John will remember him not for the illness that marked the final years of his life, but for the man he was throughout all the years before it—the memories he created, the life he lived, and the love he gave his family. We will hold on to his stories, his smile, his sense of humor, and all the little things that made him uniquely John.
Although his passing is incredibly difficult, his family and friends find comfort in knowing that his struggles are over and that he is finally at peace. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the work he accomplished, the people he helped, and the memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
Rest peacefully, my love. Your service is complete, your work here is done, and you will be loved and remembered always.
