On August 31, 2025, God took one of the kindest, most compassionate people He ever created, to be by His side in Heaven. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Jodi Lynn (Iverson) Pekar of Pasadena, Texas.

Jodi was born on August 12, 1965 to Chuck and Janet (Lewis) Iverson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She became the loving big sister to her "little" brother Brent, and ultimately, the amazing partner to her husband Mark Pekar for 27 years.

Jodi wasn't just a beautiful daughter, or an amazing wife, or a doting sister, she was just "Cuz" to her many cousins, and frankly, a friend to everyone she met. Jodi and Mark didn't have children, but Jodi was always dedicated to helping others. Her support to family, especially those in need under the direst circumstances, was second to none. She always found a way to impact her friends and family in circumstances that were challenging with a great sense of humor.

Jodi loved to be outdoors. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband Mark and wasn't afraid of getting her hands dirty. She also loved short track racing with her father Chuck and her brother Brent.

Heaven received an angel. These tears of sadness are filled with joy as well, because we know she's at peace and without any pain. We are forever grateful for the life she lived, the love she gave, and light she provided the world.

Jodi is survived by her husband Mark Pekar of Pasadena, Texas; her parents Janet and Chuck Iverson of Mesquite, Nevada; her brother Brent Iverson and his wife Sandra Rodriguez of Houston, TX; and numerous other loving family and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jodi's honor to the American Cancer Society or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

The service honoring Jodi's life will be held at 6:00pm, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, 6435 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
