Jimmie Darryl Loftis was called to Heaven on October 4, 2021, at the age of 82.

Jimmie was born on December 19, 1938 in England, Arkansas, to Eustice and Mildred Loftis. He was the first born of three boys. The Loftis family moved to Pasadena, Texas for Eustice to work as a Mason and in the Construction business. Jimmie graduated from Pasadena High School, married the love of his life Martha Jo Baker and spent the next 62 years building a wonderful life together. They enjoyed a marriage full of love, laughter, respect and family. They spent leisure time traveling, fishing, camping, cruising and visiting family for vacations.

Jimmie is proceeded in death by his wife Martha Jo Loftis, Parents- Eustice and Mildred Loftis, Brother- Jerry Loftis, Sons- Johnny Loftis, Danny Paul Loftis, Son in Law- Chuck Shewell.

Jimmie is survived by daughters Julie Everts (Les) and Lorie Shewell (Paul Lewis). Jimmie and Jo had 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of life-long friends and people they consider their additional "children" and extended family.

A Bricklayer by trade Jimmie worked many years in the Construction industry. Working for Howcon, Set Environment and owner operator of Loftis Construction. An Entrepreneur at heart, he enjoyed working at trade shows for extra spending money. He was in his element if he could buy/sell/trade which fed his collections of Vintage Toys, Coca-Cola, M & M's, Mickey Mouse, Colored and novelty glass pieces, guns, knives and antiques.

If you knew Jimmie Loftis in any capacity you recognized him as a kind-hearted, hard-working, loving, proud, loyal man that would give you the shirt off his back. He never met a stranger. Often employing friends and relatives which he didn't cut anyone any slack. He was a tough but fair boss. Jimmie would hire guys off the street and even took a Spanish class to improve communication with the day laborers. He took pride in mentoring anyone that was willing to put in the work.

Jimmie was a "man's Man" and enjoyed life to the fullest. His passion for knives, guns, cars, motorcycles, boats, his craft and his family, kept him busy! Jimmie spent a lot of time in his garage repairing knives and guns. He was quite the craftsman. Friends and neighbors would visit and spend hours hanging out in the garage listening to Jimmie's stories while he tinkered around.

As a father Jimmie strived to teach independence and responsibility. He openly showed affection and supported his children. Most of all he showed them how to have fun, love one another and to be kind. Often Jimmie would volunteer his time to help with Girl Scouts, Band, School Fundraisers, Benefits, Halloween Food Collection and more. Typically to support his children and grandchildren.

Jimmie was a devoted husband as he stood by Jo through hard times and enjoyed life's blessings with her. Spoiling her every chance that she allowed they together set an incredible example of unconditional love for their children. Holidays at the Loftis' house were always a production. The invitation to join was unspoken; everyone was welcome and most were expected. Jimmie never wanted material gifts, they wanted your company, warm hugs, good conversation and above all… love.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, October 9, at 11:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
