Jesse Herbert Doucette born June 28, 1941, passed away at home Saturday, January 21, 2023. Born in Portland, Maine, his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1944. He was a proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard, joined January 13, 1959 and was honorably discharged January 11, 1963. Jesse served on the Icebreaker EASTWIND, (polar operations 1944-1968). He was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses including Gulf Marine Service Yacht Harbor in Gulfport, MS. He joined his brother's business Huntington Homes in Friendswood, TX as a home builder from 1978-1980. He formed his own company, Design Acrylics, in Houston, TX in 1986 until he retired in 2010.

Jesse volunteered for Galveston Bay Foundation (2000), Homeland Security and United States Coast Guard Auxiliary (2003), and Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection (2003). He was awarded Honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy (1980).

Jesse had a lifetime love of any kind of boat, and he held a captain's license to operate large yachts. Animals always held a special place in Jesse's heart, especially his Pomeranians and numerous cats.

Jesse was pre-deceased by his parents Lydia and Herb Doucette, sisters Nina Ridenour and Beverly Gibson, brother David Doucette, and step-daughter Tammy Reagan. Survived by wife of 49 years Patsy Doucette, daughter Michelle Doucette Klein, granddaughters Amanda Klein Sturdivant (Patrick), Montana Klein, Erin Barnes (Will), grandson Randall Reagan (Lauren), brother Burt Doucette (Judy), and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Big Daddy will be dearly missed for his quiet, easygoing, witty and charming personality.

The memorial service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, January 28, at 4:00pm., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
