Alma Jean Kraatz, lovingly known as "Jeannie," passed away on July 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 1, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Alvin and Eunice Rogers.  Jeannie lived a life full of love, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family.

On January 15, 1977, she married the love of her life, Gary. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home in Pasadena, Texas, where they raised their two children, Jason and Nichole.  Jeannie was the heart of her family — always ready with a listening ear, a handmade gift, or a helping hand.

A gifted quilter and crafter, Jeannie found joy in creating beautiful things for those she loved. She was known for her do-it-yourself spirit, her beautifully organized decorations for her granddaughter's birthday parties, grandchildren's weddings, and her thoughtful touches at their family restaurant, where her creativity left a lasting mark.

She cherished weekends spent at craft markets, bingo, days playing bunco with her dear friend Leverne, road trips to Coushatta with her beloved husband, Gary, and days at their lake property enjoying the outdoors and yearly family vacations there. These were just a few of the many ways she celebrated life — with joy, laughter, and love.

Above all, Jeannie loved fiercely and with her whole heart. Her absence leaves a space that no words can fill, and she will be missed more than anyone can ever imagine.

Jeannie is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Gary; her son, Jason and wife Janette; her daughter, Nichole and husband Chad; and her precious grandchildren, whom she adored, Alexis, husband Tyler, Jacob, wife Halie, Kelsi, Addison, and Makenna, Sister Linda and husband Tommy, brother Wayne and numerous relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, July 23, and the service celebrating Jeannie's life will be at 10:00am Thursday, July 24, both held at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston 77089. Burial will follow at Waldeck Cemetery in Round Top, Texas at 2:00pm.

Her legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
