Jeanette Marie Minieri Haass, age 92, passed away surrounded by her loved ones after a gradual decline in health on January 30, 2023, in Pasadena, TX. Jeanette was born on January 21, 1931 in Everett, MA to Emilio and Marie Minieri. She was raised in Everett, Massachusetts, until she met the "man in her life," Larry W. Haass, who was in the Navy. Jeanette married Larry on September 13, 1952, in New London, Connecticut, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. They lived in North Reading, Massachusetts, before moving to Texas in 1961 to settle in Pasadena. She was a sweet Italian lady that always put her family first. Jeanette was a stay-at-home mother who raised three children and cared for the home. She was a room mother when her children attended Red Bluff Elementary.

Jeanette was a woman with a small stature, but she always said, "Dynamite comes in small packages." Jeanette loved cooking, baking, gardening, watching Hallmark movies, music, fashion, and eating Dilly Bars from Dairy Queen. She loved her indoor and outside cats and fed many stray animals. Her nickname was "Miss America." Jeanette would flirt with people to give them a good laugh and make their job more enjoyable. She would talk with the neighborhood children and mentor them about how they should behave to help their families and boost their self-esteem. Jeanette was a 13-year breast cancer survivor. Jeanette and Larry traveled many miles together to visit family "up North." Hence, their travels were extensive for northeastern states in the U.S. They also made many routine trips to see Larry's family in Devine, TX.

She was predeceased by her parents, Emelio and Marie Minieri, her brother Thomas Minieri and her husband, Larry Haass. Her sister, Louise Boever, and her brother James Minieri and his wife, Cheryl, survive Jeanette in Massachusetts. She will be lovingly remembered by: Son, Douglas Haass, and wife, Tana of Deer Park, TX; Daughters: Valerie Haass Bilnoski and husband, Michael of Houston, TX, and Rebecca Haass of Sugar Land, TX; Grandson, Brock Haass and his girlfriend, Angelica Arellano of League City, TX; and Great-Grandson, Conrad Haass. Jeanette also had numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, friends, and caretakers whom she loved dearly, and they will miss her greatly.

A special thanks to the caretakers who loved her and provided outstanding care for her daily needs. You helped the family out so much and put their minds at ease. The Haass's appreciate her watchful and protective neighbors, who further ensured her safety when the family was not around. Visitation will be at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089, Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00 PM in the Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/ Bethany Cemetery, Pasadena, TX, on Monday, February 6, 2023.
