Doris Jean Hargraves (Mauldin) was born May 27, 1943, and passed away May 20, 2024, in Pearland, Texas after years of battling cancer. Jean, as her family and friends called her, met her future husband, Claude, when she was 12. Upon her graduation from high school, they married and were together for 61 years.

Jean is survived by her son Robert Hargraves and wife, Donna, of Damon, Texas, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, brother Michael Mauldin and wife, Linda, and sister Beth Hovland and husband, Harold, both of Houston, as well as several very loved nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, her parents Robert and Tessie Mauldin, her beloved son, Richard Hargraves, and her brother, Bobby Mauldin.

The last years of Jean's career were as an Executive Assistant to several audit partners and managers at the firm Deloitte. She started working at Deloitte in the report department and advanced to her last position during her nearly 40 years with the firm. Jean was always available and able to provide guidance or assistance if needed. She made many wonderful lifelong friends that she cherished.

Jean and Claude were active in their community, supporting Sagemont Little League and football, serving on various boards, and holding an office on various Sagemont associations.

We shall miss her greatly but find comfort knowing she is at peace and with her Lord and Savior.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home at 11am, Thursday, May 30, 2024, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
