James "Jim" Clayton Roberson, Jr. passed into the arms of our dear Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 15, 2022, with his loving and devoted wife Loretta Hanser by his side. Jim was born on November 8, 1946, in Houston, Texas to the late James Clayton Roberson, Sr. and Annie Martha Tobler. In his early years, Jim enjoyed playing baseball and being outdoors. At the age of 12, he discovered a love of music and learned to play guitar. Jim graduated from Milby High School in 1965 and attended San Jacinto College and University of Houston. He also worked for Trans-Texas Airways by day and Rampart Street Recording Studios by night. His passion for music soon led to a career as a well-respected sound engineer with Showco, and Jim was fortunate enough to tour with several great talents including Led Zeppelin, James Taylor, War, Grand Funk Railroad, Leon Russell, The Beach Boys and The Carpenters.

Jim later attended UEI Dallas and graduated with the highest GPA ever recorded at the time. Always interested in technology and exceptionally bright, Jim became involved in computer technology and engineering, working for Schlumberger, Compaq, and HP. In later years, Jim became a certified massage therapist to help others after discovering its importance in the healing process while recovering from his own major back surgery. This also led to work in spiritual healing and he became a certified Reiki master. Jim was highly active in and fond of Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. and was very involved in the First Spiritualist Church of Houston, where you'd often hear him speak on Sunday mornings.

Throughout his life, Jim shared his passions, experiences, and wonderful sense of humor with those around him. Jim truly lived his "dash" and his hobbies included flying (he was a pilot as a young adult), traveling and camping. He was also a Free Mason.

Jim loved his family very much and truly enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife and partner of 35 years, Loretta Hanser; sister Lisa Roberson Chaney and husband Don; children Carolyn Roberson Dixon and husband Tom, Jennifer Roberson Hendrix and husband Chuck, Jennifer Hanser, Brian Roberson and partner Katie Baker, and Laura Hanser and partner Mark Garcia; grandchildren Megan Massarello, Chase Hendrix, Hailey Hendrix, Mason Dixon, and Liam Garcia; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Jim's entire medical team and the staff at The Methodist Hospital Main Campus for their care, support, and valiant efforts. We were blessed with more time because of you.

Services will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089. Visitation will begin Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 10:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am. Immediately following, a short graveside service will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
