James Edward (Moody) Patterson born in Pasadena, Texas on July 16, 1964, to Leroy and Judith Patterson. He went to be with our LORD on July 24, 2025.

He dedicated his life to our LORD and Savior by being a long-time member of South Shaver Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Pasadena and Sagemont Church in Houston, Texas. Graduated in the top of his class from San Rayburn High School in 1982 in Pasadena.

He was a well-renowned teacher in several districts all over Texas. He was in martial arts for most of his life and just tested and received his blue belt. James served his country proudly in the Army. He was a big Astros and Elvis Presley fan. He also loved bowling and many other sports. He was an avid collector of comics, records and baseball cards. He spent his last days enjoying time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith T. Barron, his father Marvin Leroy Patterson, both sets of grandparents and several aunts and uncles. James is survived by his sister Kathryn Moody spouse Shawn Lynch of Port Arthur. His bestie Margie Little spouse Paul of Trinity. Nephew Michael Moody spouse Carolyn of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Niece Emma Thomas spouse Adam Thomas of Winfield, Ks. Nephew Andrew Austin of Austin, and several cousins from Texas and Virginia.

The service honoring James's life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX 77089, at 11:00am, Saturday, August 2, 2025, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
