James McDonald, a loving and devoted husband and father, was called home to God July 21, 2024 after a day full of love and laughter with family. His family rightfully describes him as a good man who loved well. His greatest joy was his family. He married the love of his life, Tammy, in 1997 and had two beautiful children, Kenzie (Kingsly) and Kendra McDonald. As his children grew up he was involved in everything from coaching sports teams to volunteering with the Pearland band. He was always present for his family and didn't turn down an opportunity to help others. He lived out his faith in God through his service and love for people. His main focus was his family whom he loved with every fiber of his being. He adored his wife, Tammy, and spent over 27 years loving her well. They made a great team and created amazing children. He treasured the years of raising their children together and was enjoying the time with his wife as empty nesters.

He loved having adult relationships with them, helping them navigate the facets of launching and living well. His commitment to making memories with his family will be treasured as they navigate life without his loving presence. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy of service and love leaves a permanent mark on those who knew him.

If you knew James, you would know that he was a jokester at heart and loved to laugh. You would never see him without his signature diet Dr. Pepper and koozie, lovingly referred to as Waldo. While he considered himself frugal others might call him cheap, but his family recognized him as a great provider. He did not want to spend money on 'things' but instead focused on making memories with his family. He understood the importance of spending time with the people he loved and was an example to others of the importance of prioritizing family and memories.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8pm, Monday, July 29, 2024, at Peevey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10am, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Peevey Funeral Home.
