James David Lightbody, born July 30, 1968, passed away August 27, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.   Jim was born in North Carolina before moving to New Jersey as a small child.  The family then moved to Texas in the early 80's. Jim is survived by his mom Julie Heveran, step mom Maryann Lightbody,  wife Wanda Lightbody, fur babies Zadie and Tiny, sisters Jennifer Conley (husband David), Jessica Lightbody and Jordan Lightbody, brother Justin Lightbody, son James Lightbody, daughter Kristen Presley, step children Jon Steele, Corinna Sharp and Amber Herman, nieces Meaghan Cowles, Kelly Padgett and Jiya Taylor, nephews Eric Conley and Michael Conley along with numerous step grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father James Morgan Lightbody.

Jim graduated from Alief Elsik High School before going to Texas State Technical Institute to pursue a degree in HVAC where he had a successful career as an HVAC engineer, designing heating and cooling systems for numerous schools and businesses.

Jim loved hockey more than life, a passion he passed down to his children James and Kristen.  He enjoyed cooking, exploring new places, entertaining and of course listening to Jimmy Buffett.  He loved tailgating at the concerts and eventually made pool gating while livestreaming his music an annual tradition.

When he was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2015 his passions turned to being an advocate for several organizations including Leukemia Texas and Reel Recovery.  Jim was an Honored Hero for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night.
