James Lynn Scarbrough, Jr. 32, gained his wings on Thursday, February 24, 2022. James was born on September 24, 1989, to the late James Lynn Scarbrough, Sr. and his mother Trina Lynn Scarbrough. James grew up in Friendswood, Texas. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football and was on the wrestling team. James joined the youth worship band at his church FCC and performed in talent shows as a kid. James was an avid music lover and especially loved attending live shows near and far. James absolutely loved the outdoors: skiing, hunting, hiking, fishing, camping on lakes & rivers, biking, and skateboarding and most recently helping build a ranch style cabin and searching for Forrest Fenn's Treasure w/ his roommate Jimmy in Colorado where he previously resided. James was so happy with his decision to move to Colorado.

James was blessed with a large and loving family. Some would say James was blessed with four moms, because he has three older sisters. James always made sure to let his family know how much he loved them, he was a very giving person; and he had the biggest heart. We wish we had the space to write about his closest friends and the impact he made on them and vice versa – "ya'll know who you are". Those who knew James, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives and James will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Neil Imber, his childhood friend, shared these words "James was a great friend the kind of friend that would dream your dreams along with you just to support you. He had a contagious laugh and was always ready for the next adventure!"

James often quoted this Bible scripture, Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also". Unsure of the meaning this scripture had for James, but we will hold it close to our hearts as it was symbolic to him.

James is survived by his mother, Trina Lynn Scarbrough; his 3 sisters: Billie Cross her husband James, their children Jordan, preceded in death by Brianna, Jackson, and Jakobé, Toni Quick her husband Chris, their children Madison and Ryder, Trinity Witt her husband Michael Herrera, their children Makayla, Hunter, and Michael Herrera II and his brother Seth Scarbrough. James did not have children of his own, but he was an awesome uncle and a great-uncle to Kinsley, Aurora, McKenzie, and Michael III.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, March 11, 2022, at Peevey Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service, with David Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
