In the loving memory of our father, James Ervin (Frenchy) Tremie, who passed away on September 29th, 2023. He was the devoted husband of Elsie Tremie and loving father of Felicia Tremie Burgess and Christopher James Tremie.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

James E Tremie was born on January 2nd, 1935, to Sidney and Marie (Soileau) Tremie in Ville Platte, Louisiana. After graduating from Ville Platte High School in 1952 James went on to join the Navy in 1953 and served 4 years. In 1958, James met Elsie Pierce. They were married on December 26th and have been married for 61 years. They moved to Houston and were blessed with two children. Employed at Goodyear chemical for 35 years and retired in 2000. He spent time with family and grandchildren and friends. He loved attending all events for grandchildren and playing senior softball and senior Olympics.

One of the kindest souls on this planet, he was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He actively donated his time to coach his children and impacted many other kids' lives along the way.  Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strength and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.

You are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Ca C'est bon

James Ervin Tremie was predeceased by His parents Sidney and Marie Tremie, Sister Helen Manuel, and Niece Rachel Abadie.

James is survived by his Wife Elsie Tremie, Daughter Felicia Burgess and her husband Doug Burgess, Son Christopher Tremie and Wife Percilla Tremie, Sister Neva Veron, Grandchildren; Laurin Moore (David), Elayna Shirley (Eric), Alyssa Williams (Tyler), Cade Tremie, Reagan Tremie, Page Harvey, and Kaden Harvey. Great grandsons Harrison and Rhett and many more relatives.

Pallbearers: Doug Burgess, Cade Tremie, David Moore, Eric Shirley, Tyler Williams, and Kaden Harvey.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd. Houston, TX 77089. Wednesday, October 4th, at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, Texas, 77038.
