James Duplechain was born September 16, 1949, in Sunset Louisiana.  Born to Leslie and Edorsey Adams Duplechain.  He met his wife, Thelma in Houston, TX in 1977 and were married 47 years.  James was a great provider who loved family.  He worked very hard to assure that his family's needs and wants were met.

James was drafted into the army and served in the Vietnam War.  After being discharged, he worked refineries and construction until landing a job at Bayer Chemical in Baytown, TX.  He was employed as a operator and retired after 28 years.

If you drove down the street, you would find him working in his yard.  So strong, a great man.  James had a love for dogs like no other.  James set an exemplary example as a husband, father and grandfather.  He was spiritually strong and compassionate and had a clever sense of humor.  Above all, he loved and cherished his family and friends.

During his very last days, some good and some not so well.  He smiled through it all.  As he aged, he taught us how to grow old with dignity, humor, and kindness and when the good Lord finally calls, how to meet Him with courage, joy and a great big smile!

He was preceded in death by Leslie and Edorsey Adams Duplechain.  His sisters are, Barbara (Larry) Sullivan of Semmes Alabama, Maxine Duplechain of Sunset Louisiana and Delores Broussard of Carencro Louisiana.  His children are, Thelma (known as Kiesha) Young, James (Donyelle) Duplechain, Jr., Julie Duplechain, Ronald (Trina) Francis, Lawrence (known as Larry) (Linda) Goudeau, Steven (Gina) Goudeau, Louis (Tasha) Goudeau.  Grandchildren - 22 and Great grandchildren - 14.
