Jack passed away at the age of 63.  He was born in Austin, TX to Gloria and Jack M. Terry, Jr.  He is preceded in death by his mother and her husband John Van Gilder, grandparents Lucile and Al Goatcher and June and Jack M. Terry Sr.

He was a graduate of J. Frank Dobie High School, Rice University and South Texas College of Law where he was a member of Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity.  He practiced law for 35 years and was admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts including the Supreme Court of the United States.

By faith Jack was an Episcopalian and attended St. James Episcopal Church in Amesbury, MA.

Jack was a former member of the Naval Reserve and an Admiral in the Texas Navy.  He will be remembered for his work in the Battleship Texas Foundation.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation in his name to the Battleship Texas Foundation, One Riverway Suite 2200, Houston, Tx 77056, a local pet rescue organization or your favorite charity.

Jack is survived by his father Jack Morris Terry, Jr. (Eden), brother Joseph D. Terry Esq. (Johanna), nephew Ritter P. Terry, Susie and Richard Van Gilder and his very special friend Liz Lattimore Iacobucci.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Sanders, Jon Morales, Ed Green, John Murphey, III, Rick Clark, Steve McDaniel, and David Colmenero.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX 77089.  The burial will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2:00pm in Evergreen Cemetery, in Ranger, TX.
