Imelda Rafaela Garza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 7th of March 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on the 24th of October 1942 in Higueras, Nuevo Leon Mexico. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1975 where she met her beloved husband, Larry J. Garza. They were married on the 3rd of December 1977 at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Together they raised three daughters.

She is survived by her sister Jacoba Cortes, her brother Jesus Gonzalez, her three devoted daughters, Sandra Williams, Adriana Cena, and Sonia Garza. She is also survived by her six grandchildren who were the source of immense joy and pride in her life, Nicholas Villareal, Erika Burrows, Juliana and Liliana Williams, Lucas and Vincent Cena. Great Grandchildren, Elyana and Rowan Burrows and Alina Spurlock.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry J. Garza, her parents, Francesca and Francisco Gonzalez, her sisters Virginia, Irene, Rogelia Gonzalez, her brothers, Leopoldo, Gerardo, and Daniel Gonzalez.

A devoted mother and wife, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Her wisdom, strength and faith served as a guiding light for her family, leaving an indelible mark on each generation.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the many friends and family who have offered prayers of love and support.

May she rest in peace in the hands of our lord, her memory forever in our hearts.

The family will welcome friends at Peevey Funeral Home, Monday, March 11, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm  A celebration of Imelda's life will  also be held at the Funeral Home, Tuesday March 12, at 9:00am, Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
