Helene Hourani, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully in the arms of her son, Gary, on February 11, 2025.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 26, 1934, and was ninety-one years young. Helene moved to Houston with her family from Detroit in 1970.

Even though Helene struggled with several health issues, she kept a positive attitude. At any time and any place, Helene was a selfless and compassionate soul to her family, friends, and even strangers that she encountered. She was a lifelong Catholic, strong in her faith, and trusted in the Lord. Disarming in her ability to make everyone feel at ease, she had a warmth and an authenticity that transcended to all ages. Helene's sense of humor, sarcasm, and wit was matched by no one. Always one to find the levity in any serious situation, she could diffuse them with laughter and a smile   From a Sunday afternoon drive after attending Mass to getting a bite to eat at a favorite restaurant, the simplest things in life brought Helene the most joy. Also, gatherings with family and friends gave a pleasant distraction from all of the health issues that continued to plague her.

Helene is preceded in death by father, Bishara Trabulsy, mother, Victoria Trabulsy, brothers, David and Nessib Trabulsy, sister, Dolores Walker, husband, Edward Hourani, and son, John Hourani. She was a true blessing in our lives and will be greatly missed. Always in our hearts....

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00pm Friday, February 21, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood, Friendswood 77546, with visitation one hour prior to mass.  Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
