It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, Richard Stokley, who received his front row ticket to Heaven early Sunday morning October 5, 2025, at the age of 76 years old

Richard was born on June 17, 1949, in Bethesda, Maryland.  He spent his childhood growing up in Alabama.  Then as a young adult he moved to the great state of Texas, where he lived with his family for the rest of his life.  He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend, coach, and businessman whose love for life, humor, and mentorship helped paved the way for so many.  His huge heart and genuine love of people will allow his legacy to live on forever through all the lives he has touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents James H. Stokley Sr. and Geraldine P. Atkinson as well as his infant daughter LaDonica Stokley.

He is survived by: Brothers and Sister - James Jr. and Pam Stokley, Daniel and Mary Quinn Stokley, Quintin and Linda Stokley, Raymond Stokley, Kathy and Rene Head, and David and Yvonne Stokley. Children- Paula Hunt, Michelle Lima, Billy Stokley, Jimmy Stokley, and Tyler Stokley. Grandchildren- Brittani Reeves (Husband - Todd Reeves), Gage Hunt (Wife - Kimberly Hunt), Allan Cupps, Gavin Hunt, Mason Peres, Bella Stokley, Haley Stokley, Gibson Stokley, and Knox Stokley. Great Grandchildren - Axton Hunt, Atlas Hunt, Oliver Hunt, Colten Blair, Paxton Mason, Jaxson Jenkins, August Jenkins, and Dalton Reeves.

He also had many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the great life he lived, Friday, October 17, from 10:00am until 11:00am. The service celebrating Richard's life will follow at 11:00am at Peevey Funeral Home; 12440 Beamer Rd. Houston, Tx 77089.
