Harry Esmond Barrett III, 80, of Pearland, Texas passed away on February 12th, 2023 after fighting a tough battle with colon cancer.

Harry was born on March 15th, 1942 to Harry Esmond Barrett Jr. and Lois Odessa Lesser Barrett in Houston. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1960, Harry went on to study Business at Baylor University where he graduated in 1964 with a BBA.

After graduation, Harry started a career as a stock broker for Bache & Co. before he went on as a statistician for the Houston Rockets in the 1970's and 1980's. Harry then went on to become a teacher, a career where he was able to leave lasting impressions on thousands of students throughout his many years as an educator. Harry is also well known for his decades as a coach and for being a Sports Beat Writer for the local paper, The Pearland Journal. He has also been involved with the fast-pitch softball Legends of Greater Houston and their Hall of Honor for many years.

As a coach for his two sons' Little League Baseball and Basketball teams, Harry was the ultimate motivator to his players. He tried to make every player on his teams believe that they could be successful and contribute to the teams' victory no matter what the score was. He had an encyclopedic memory and could tell you most everything that happened during every game he watched and coached.

After retiring, One of Harry's greatest interests was spending time with his four grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to be with them. From softball and volleyball tournaments when the grandchildren were young, to family vacations to Las Vegas, Rockets games, and dinners as they grew older. Harry "PeePaw" was always heavily involved in their lives, making lifelong memories that will be cherished forever. Harry was also very involved in his church community. He attended Sagemont Church for many years, and recently moved his membership to First Baptist Church of Pasadena.

Harry is survived by his sister Victoria, his two sons Ricky and David, and his 4 grandchildren; Carissa, Chloe, Sierra and Jagger.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 atPearland Area Dad's Club, 5522 Fite Rd Pearland, Texas 77584 from 1:30pm-3:30pm, Reflection at 2:30pm.
