Harlan Colin Rickard, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2024. Born in Parnell, MO, Harlan grew up in Omaha, NE, alongside his four brothers. He lived a life full of love and dedication to his family and friends.

Harlan moved to Houston, TX in 1966. He served his country with honor and distinction as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. Over a span of 37 years, he held various positions at Powell Industries, where he forged lifelong friendships. Harlan was a beloved husband to Janeen Fobair Rickard for 37 years, as well as a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy is one of hard work, enduring friendships, and support for his loved ones.

Harlan had a passion for collecting knives, fishing lures, guns, and national park memorabilia. He loved going to flea markets and trade shows to look for collectors' items, reflecting his love for the outdoors and his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, dance recitals, competitions, or beauty pageants, taking great pride in their achievements. Harlan never missed one of Megan's soccer games, watching her play the flute in band, or one of Colin's baseball games or Hannah's dance recitals, competitions, and beauty pageants.

Harlan is preceded in death by his parents, and his four brothers, Glen Rickard, Dean Rickard, Donald Rickard, and Gary Rickard. He is survived by his loving wife, Janeen Fobair Rickard, and his children: Wendy Broyles (Chad Beard), Ronny Lee (Pat Villarreal), Tad Rickard (Melissa Rickard), Scott Rickard, and Megan Stafford (Samantha Stafford). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jessica Kemp, Tessa Gast, Stevie Lee, Colin Rickard, and Hannah Rickard, and great-grandchildren: Madison Kemp, Gavin Kemp, Stassi Gast, and Juliette Gast. Harlan's memory will forever be treasured by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm, Wednesday, November 20th, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who provided support and friendship over the years. Harlan will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
