Marian Gwen Trenary, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away at home, surrounded by love, laughter, family, and friends, following a brief but brave fight with brain cancer. True to her spirit, Gwen spent her final days bringing joy to others and making sure everyone around her was cared for.

Though her life took her many places, including living in Australia, her heart belonged to Colorado. She loved the mountains more than anywhere else in the world, finding peace, beauty, and grounding in their presence. She later made her life in Texas and held a special love for her little corner of Pasadena, where neighbors became family and community was built through shared life, kindness, and care.

Gwen had a remarkable gift for connection with everyone she met and a truly magnetic personality. She loved a good card game, treasured girls' nights, and never missed an episode of The Voice or a Hallmark movie. Even while recovering from brain surgery and facing a devastating diagnosis, Gwen made her nurses and doctors laugh, brightening their days with her humor and warmth. She was a devoted member of her church community, actively participating in the widows group and Sunday school, where she found fellowship, purpose, and joy. She was a talented seamstress who poured her heart into sewing, especially the prayer blankets she lovingly made for others through her church. In a beautiful full-circle moment, Gwen herself was wrapped in a prayer blanket when she passed, made with the same love she had so freely given throughout her life.

She delighted in life's simple pleasures: a perfectly mixed margarita, a great steak, and sharing a good meal with people she loved. She especially enjoyed visits to Golden Corral. In her last days, there was little she wanted more than Golden Corral's banana pudding, which became a comforting favorite. Gwen found joy in laughter, storytelling, and shared meals, and she had a way of making everyday moments feel special.

Family was at the center of Gwen's world. Her son, Lance, was the pride and joy of her life, and she spoke of him often with unmistakable admiration and devotion. She held deep appreciation for Paulette and was so proud of the loving family that Lance and Paulette built together. Gwen dearly loved her granddaughters, Elizabeth and Ally-Catherine, delighting in who they were and who they were becoming, and caring for them with the same wholehearted attention she gave to everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life. She also held deep affection for her siblings, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and extended family, keeping those relationships close and cherishing time spent together.

Gwen had a profound love for beauty and nature. She loved flowers and took great pride in creating an oasis of a backyard, her peaceful sanctuary filled with color and life. She found special joy in hummingbirds, butterflies, and dragonflies, delighting in their presence and the quiet magic they brought to her days.

Above all, Gwen was a caretaker in the truest sense. She noticed what people needed, often before they did, and went out of her way to make sure they felt supported, welcomed, and loved. Even in her final days, she focused not on herself, but on lifting the spirits of those around her, leaving behind laughter, memories, and love that will endure.

Marian Gwen Trenary lived with intention, generosity, faith, and heart. She will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her deep love of family, her appreciation for beauty, and the way she made people feel seen and cared for. She was, and always will be, deeply loved.

A service celebrating Gwen's life will be held at South Main Baptist Church, 4300 East Sam Houston Parkway South, Pasadena, Texas 77505, on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The family invites all who attend to a reception at the church immediately following the service.
