On July 10th, 2022, Gloria Jean Boots (87) passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was a lifelong Baptist, with a good heart and will surely be welcomed by our Lord and Savior.

Gloria was born in 1935, in Detroit, Michigan where she spent her formative years. During her childhood she moved many times, many places across the United States. She landed in Florida for her junior high through high school years. It was after her junior year that her family relocated to Texas. Texas was home to her for the rest her life.

Gloria graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, HISD, in 1953. Shortly after graduating she married and started a family. By 1956 she was a mother to two, single and working as a secretary. She married her second husband, Charles (Chuck) Boots in March of '61, becoming a step-mother to his daughter and later welcomed another daughter.

It was in the late 60's she decided she wanted to make a career change. No longer interested in doing secretarial work, she decided to get her real estate license. She would go on to win many awards and had many satisfied, repeat clients in a career that would span 30+ years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John T. Peterbaugh & Rana Holland Campbell, a step-brother, Roger Campbell, a brother-in-law, Tom Boots, a daughter-in-law, Donna Boots, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind two sons, James L. Boots and John P. Boots, a step-daughter, Cassy Dobson and husband Wayne, a daughter, Amy Brousseau and husband Bruce, two sisters, Lynn Hutchens and husband Perry Mac, and Nancy Kniffen, Six grandchildren: Daniel Boots, Michelle Turner and husband Sterling, Kim Martin and husband Kevin, Lisa Hoelscher and husband John, Paige Massingale, Laura Boots, 10 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held a Peevey Funeral Home, Thursday, July 14, from 5pm until 7pm, the funeral service will also be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Friday July 15, at 10:00am; interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
