Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Georjean Walker Nixon, was peacefully welcomed into her heavenly home on the morning of November 10, 2025, at the age of 75, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Tyler, Texas, on July 19, 1950, Georjean was the daughter of George and Lorin Walker. Georjean grew up in and around Houston before settling in the Sagemont area in 1965. She graduated from South Houston High School in 1968, where she not only forged lifelong friendships but also met the love of her life, Mike Nixon. After high school, Georjean attended Stephen F. Austin State University before returning home to work at Tenneco. She and Mike were married on May 22, 1971, and began their family a few years later.

While gentle in spirit, Georjean was a driving force. Accepting Christ as her Savior as a young mother while attending Sagemont Church marked a turning point in her life and the life of her family. In the years that followed, Georjean devoted herself wholeheartedly to serving the Lord. She was an active member of Sagemont for over 40 years, where her organizational skills and gentle spirit of service led her to contribute in numerous ways. Georjean joined the church choir around 1980 and quickly found a sense of purpose and joy, eventually leading to her role in coordinating the men's section of the choir, where she earned the affectionate nickname "General." She joined the Praise Team in 1999 and remained a dedicated member until 2019. In addition to her volunteer work, Georjean served at Sagemont Church in several administrative roles, including Bus & AWANA Secretary starting in 2004, before being asked to serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Pastor, Chuck Schneider, in 2011. Georjean's service to the church continued until her retirement in 2019, winning the hearts of everyone she worked with through her selfless love, infectious smile, and unwavering dedication. To her, Sagemont Church was more than just a place of worship—it was family. Her church family remained in her heart and mind until God called her home.

Georjean is survived by her loving husband, Mike Nixon; her son, Brandon Nixon, and his wife, Nikki, along with their children: Zane (and Haley), Reese (and Abby), Eden, Hope, Noah, Haven, Miles, and Theo; her daughter, Neisha Teer, and her husband, Dave, along with their children: Meliya, Caillyn, Bryleigh, Deklan, and Lyndee; as well as numerous extended family and friends, many of whom were like family to her.

A private burial will be held in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Thursday, November 20th. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at Sagemont Church in mid-December.
