George was a twice time Air Force Veteran, serving most of his time in Central America. This is where he met the love of his life Hazel. He served in the communications section for the Air force. They were happily married and had one child together Ingrid "Johanna Huffman.

George "Papa" Neely was proceed in death by Wife Hazel Neely his daughter Ingrid (Johanna) Huffman ,parents Frank and Annie Neely , Brother Frank Neely. Sister Faye (Neely) Cuellar. He is survived by Rylee and Carson Huffman (grandchildren)sisters Paula Comeaux , Mary Bickley, Karen Watt and her husband Cliff. Also survived by sister in law Kay Neely and brother in law Joe Cuellar, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
