Gary Wayne Chattman, Sr., born in Pasadena, Texas on January 20th, 1962, passed away on June 17th, 2024. After a long battle with health issues, Gary went to be with his father in Heaven. He is preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Raymond Chattman, his brother William "Billy" Chattman, and his brother-in-law Eddie League. Gary is survived by his mother Betty Jo Chattman, sister Patricia League, brother Kenny Chattman, aunt Darline Bailey and cousin Pam Bailey. He also leaves behind his three children, daughter Brittany O'Reilly and husband William, son Gary "Bubba" Chattman, Jr. and fiancé Jeffrey, and daughter Kendall Longbotham and husband Jacob. Grandsons Deagen O'Reilly, Landon O'Reilly, Jaxon Layne Longbotham as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gary graduated from Deer Park High School in 1981. He was a man of many trades and loved to help others. His passion was working with his father for over 30 years in the auto air industry. Together they ran Bill's Auto Air in Pasadena, Texas. Gary was an expert mechanic and had a tool for everything. He also served many years as a director for the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo. Gary loved spending his time competing in BBQ cook-offs. He cooked for many benefits and in recent years loved catering events. He was a master at the BBQ grill and there wasn't a brisket Gary couldn't smoke.

Over the last 25 years, Gary has been a devoted caregiver for his mother Betty. Gary was the kind of man you could call day or night. He would always answer the phone and loved talking to everyone and helping any way he could. Gary loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was so proud of all of them and there wasn't a time he wasn't talking about them to his many friends. He also enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Houston Astros and Texans. Gary was a friend to everyone he met and never met a stranger. He enjoyed time with his many friends and listening to good music. He was a man who was loved by many and will be missed.

Gary wanted everyone to enjoy life. In honor of Gary Wayne Chattman Sr., enjoy life and do something kind for someone you love.

The visitation for Gary will be held Sunday, June 23, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.,at Peevey Funeral Home. The service will also be held at the Funeral Home, Monday, June 24, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
