Freda was born April 27, 1961, and passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2025, her mother's birthday, after a valiant battle with cancer.  She is preceded in death by her mother Doris Hutchison Walters, her father Joe Hutchison, her grandmother Lena McClain, her husbands, Johnny Wienecke and Gary Mathews, and her son Stephen Michael Wienecke.

Freda was born in New York while her father was in the military but spent most of her life in Texas. She attended J. Frank Dobie High School where some of her fondest memories are from her involvement with the Latin Club and playing drums in the marching band with her best friend Becky. After graduation in 1979, she moved to Kerrville to attend Schreiner University on a scholarship.  While attending college, she met and married Johnny Wienecke. They had two beautiful daughters, Stephanie and Katie, and a son, Stephen, who passed shortly after birth. Freda moved back to the Southeast Houston area to raise her daughters closer to family and both daughters also graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School. She later married Gary Mathews and moved to Danbury where she lived the rest of her earthly years. Freda enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, a little gambling, researching ancestry, and mostly just spending time at the farm with her kids and grandkids.

As the oldest of seven, she is survived by her siblings Rosie, Loretta, Janie, Joey, J.D., and Melissa, their spouses and families, Jerry Walters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Most importantly, Freda leaves behind her two beautiful daughters that she loved more than anything in the world, Stephanie and Katie, along with nine grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Joseph, Hannah, Abby, Gage, Cole, Michael, Joey, and the two newest twin grand babies, Heavenly and Kaisley.  Although Freda will be missed by her family, many friends, and co-workers, we take comfort knowing she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is reunited with her son and her mother whom she missed deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 16, at 2:00pm.
