Frank Dean Minton entered Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following his peaceful passing on Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025. He was born August 10, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas along with his identical twin brother Fred to Marion Silas Minton and Lillian Eva Minton (Weber).

Frank's commitment to Jesus Christ began at age 11 in February 1946. He was called to preach the Gospel in 1948. He graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Slaymaker, in 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma. They were married for 68 years until her death in August of 2024. He was ordained to the ministry in July 1958. He graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) in Norman, Oklahoma by way of a baseball scholarship in 1961. He also earned a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) in 1965 and Master of Divinity (MD) in 1973 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Frank was a left-handed pitcher in the minor leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers for three years from 1955 to 1957 before being called to preach turning down his fourth-year contract.  For him it was like "Trading a Diamond for a Crown." During his 60-year ministry he pastored ten churches in six states. He founded the Tyler Road Baptist Church in their home in Wichita, Kansas in 1958. He led Southcliff Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, Texas to build a 1,000-seat capacity worship center and Far Hills Baptist Church of Dayton, Ohio to build a 2,000-seat capacity worship center.

Frank authored three books about Baseball and the Bible. His favorite scripture is "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe." Romans 1:16. His statement of life: "Jesus saved my soul; His church saved my life."

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, and his youngest brother, Clark Minton. He is survived by his sister, Marliene Sims of Oklahoma City, his identical twin brother, Fred Minton of Panama, his four children, Bruce Minton of Valparaiso, Indiana, Lori (John Mark) Benson of Houston, Texas, Lisa (Robert) Gavlick of Houston, Texas, Lesli (Darryl) Boyles of Montgomery, Texas along with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren who affectionately called him "Ginky".

A private graveside service will be held for family.
