Eugene John Gaidousek "Gene" passed away from this life on March 5, 2025 in Houston, Texas at the age of 93.  He was born the oldest child to Lenora (Kupka) and John Gaidousek in Kenedy, Texas on January 22, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bessie Rochen, and his brother Paul Gaidousek. He is survived by his sister Mary Frances Stephens, his children Christopher Gaidousek, Denise Reagan and her husband Gary, Angela Drone and her husband Ben, Karen Owen and Dave Gaidousek and his wife Alex, his 11 grandchildren Becky, Ross, Rick, Lindsey, Joseph, Elizabeth, Madeline, Natalie, Megan, Elena and Julia, his 9 great grandchildren and soon to arrive first great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene attended elementary school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Houston and graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1950. He served in the Texas National Guard 48th Armored Division for 14 years. He was employed at Southern Pacific Railroad in Houston for 28 years. He left Houston to pursue and build his own business in the packaging industry. He formed, Southwest Strapping, in San Diego CA, owning his business for another 32 years. After a brief retirement in Auburn, CA, he returned to Houston Texas.

Eugene had a lifelong love of aviation, and while in California he built his own experimental aircraft, an RV6A from a kit. He also enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables and fruits often creating an eclectic back yard jungle. He enjoyed camping in the desert with his 4x4 and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. with a Vigil service beginning at 6:00pm.  at Peevey Funeral Home located at 12440 Beamer Rd. Houston TX 77089.
