We gather here today to celebrate the amazing and wonderful life of Erin Louise Stephenson Jones. Erin was born October 17, 1950 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio – to the late Lt. Col. James A. Stephenson and Patricia LaClaire Stephenson. Erin is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Calvin Jones; daughter Faith Ann Ross and son Jerry Dean Jones; 6 granddaughters and one grandson; one brother, Craig A. Stephenson (Arkansas) and preceded in death by one brother James Berry Stephenson.

Erin graduated from Ross Sterling High School in 1968, and then attended San Jacinto Jr. College. She entered the oil and gas industry soon after getting married in 1969 and rose through the ranks to become the executive secretary to several prominent and well-known oil tycoons and political individuals, including secretary to Houston Mayor Fred Hofeinz. In her youth, Erin enjoyed participating in many activities, but mainly rodeoing. That is where she met and married Calvin, her true sweetheart and rodeo cowboy August 10, 1969. They spent a lifetime together traveling, ranching, racing horses and trying to raise kids while still hanging on to their youth.

Erin found peace in music and art, having a natural talent for playing piano, guitar and painting.

The last 15 years have been a tough battle – first brain surgery for a cancerous tumor then Hodgkin's lymphoma, followed by a two year fight with lung cancer.

Today we bid farewell to a beautiful lady that will always be with us.

The family would like to say "Thank You" to Sarajane Porter for the many hours spent lovingly taking care of Erin.

The service celebrating Erin's life will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Peevey Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow Saturday, September 9, 11:00am, at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.
