Ellen Frascino (1924–2025)

A Century of Grace, Adventure, and Generosity

Ellen Frascino, age 101, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Pearland, Texas. Born on April 23, 1924, in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of Marion and Annie Callender. Raised in a lively household with four sisters and four brothers, Ellen's early years were filled with the warmth of family and the strength of community.

Ellen and her husband Bill moved to Pearland in the early 1960s, where they built their forever home and became deeply rooted in the community. Ellen began her professional life as an executive secretary with Halliburton, demonstrating the same poise and precision that would define her character for decades. When Bill opened the Home Appliance Store, he knew exactly who to recruit—Ellen joined him in running the business, and together they served Pearland with dedication and heart. They owned and operated the store until their retirement in 1999, both in their mid-70s, closing a chapter of hard work and shared purpose.

Ellen lived a life full of joy, curiosity, and compassion. She loved to travel, visit casinos, and play cards and bunco with her friends. She found joy in knitting scarves for loved ones, dining out, and sharing laughter over meals. Remarkably, she maintained her independence and lived on her own until the age of 99—a testament to her strength and spirit.

Her commitment to service and community was unwavering. Ellen was a proud sponsor of the 100 Club of Pearland, a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge, and a passionate supporter of veteran's programs and any cause that uplifted children. Her generosity and involvement touched countless lives and left a lasting impact.

Ellen had a signature style that was unmistakable—she loved her bling. Whether it was a rhinestone-studded sweater, glittery earrings, or a sequined handbag, she believed that a little sparkle could brighten any day. Her caregivers at Hope Assisted Living often joked that Ellen didn't just walk into a room—she shimmered into it. She loved getting dressed up, insisted on wearing her favorite pink slippers and never missed a chance to add a touch of glam to her look by wearing all her shiny bracelets.

In her final months, Ellen was lovingly cared for at Hope Assisted Living in Pearland, owned and operated by Rachel Webb. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Rachel and to the principal caregivers—Betty, Maria, D'Nay, Victoria, Tasha, and Bethany—for their patience, kindness, and the many "makeup days," fingernail painting, hair braiding, glamour moments, and delicious meals that brought Ellen joy and dignity.

Ellen is survived by several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, and a wide circle of loving and faithful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 64 years, Bill Frascino; her daughter, Kim; and all of her sisters and brothers.

The service honoring Ellen's life will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Ellen will be laid to rest at South Park Cemetery in Pearland with Bill and Kim.
